Bonkio is a multiplayer physics contest played with bouncing circular characters. The aim is to stay on the arena while knocking opponents beyond its edges. Position matters as much as impact: a powerful collision can remove a rival, but a badly judged attack can send your own character off the platform. Matches support up to eight players, with individual and team options available through the game.

How movement and weight work

Use the arrow keys to move. Hold X to become heavier, then release it when you need more freedom to change direction. Extra weight helps you resist a push and commit to a stronger collision, but reduces maneuverability. Holding the key throughout a round makes it harder to correct an approach near an edge.

Begin by learning how your character rebounds from the floor and walls. Approach a rival from a stable piece of ground, leave enough room to stop, and avoid following a missed hit straight into empty space. If another player is charging toward you, moving aside can be safer than answering with a head-on impact. These are tactical choices rather than guaranteed winning moves; the arena shape and other players change the situation.

Picking a match

Quick play offers a direct route into a match, while custom games let players organize their own sessions. Community maps and the level editor extend the basic idea with different layouts. Inspect the current arena before applying a familiar route: a ledge that was safe on one map may be absent on another.
