Stick Man Hook

Stick Man Hook loads Robin Hook, a swinging obstacle game where a string keeps the character connected while you travel through the course. Your task is to use that connection to carry the character across the level without losing a workable route past the obstacles. The movement depends on timing your next hook action as well as watching where the character is headed.

Learn the hook action

The publisher documents mouse control and tapping to hook with the string. Begin with a short section and watch the movement produced by one action. Pay attention to the swing's direction before attempting the next connection. When the string is lost, the character can fall, so look for the continuation before leaving yourself without support.

Keep your attention slightly ahead of the character. Focusing only on the current attachment makes it harder to notice an obstacle approaching along the swing's path. A connection is useful when it leads toward a manageable next position, rather than simply because it is the closest opportunity you can see.

Adjust the part that caused the fall

If a run ends, identify whether you missed the next connection or moved into an obstacle. Those outcomes suggest different changes to your timing. Repeat the earlier part of the course with a clear adjustment in mind instead of changing every input at once.

For another way to practice reading a platform route, Vex 3 uses running, jumping and sliding through its own obstacle stages.
